Yes, it's true. Twenty-one years after we bought her, Kalessin is officially on the market.
Here's the CA ad:
Much-loved fin-keeled Storm Kalessin of Orwell, in the ownership of Cruising's editor and her late husband since 2004. Built to Westerly's high standards as a fast cruising yacht, and regularly updated. Theoretically sleeps seven, but comfortable for four with spacious aft and forward cabins, generous heads and well-equipped galley (with new fridge compressor). Standing rigging replaced 2018, Volvo D1-30 engine 2019, various sails including a cruising chute, and much-envied cockpit tent which provides an extra room with a view on colder or wetter days. Lightweight dinghy and Torqeedo outboard, liferaft and all safety equipment, 2024 Icom fixed VHF with cockpit command mike, AIS transponder, Raymarine EV-100 autopilot and much more. She has taken us safely across Biscay and into the Med, through the French canals, up into the Baltic, and around most of Britain last year. Full details at https://www.clarkeandcarter.co.uk/1988-westerly-storm/, lying Suffolk Yacht Harbour on the river Orwell. 2023 survey available on request.
Part 1 registered, UK VAT paid. Advertised at £26,500 but price negotiable.
