...Kalessin made slow progress from Badalona to Blanes:
Sam spent one day last week worrying at the back of his mind about whether he had remembered to turn the sea-cocks off before leaving the boat... then he remembered that Kalessin is out of the water.
Kalessin of Orwell is a 33ft Westerly Storm. In 2006-8 we sailed her down to Portugal, into the Med, and home through the French canals. In 2011 we explored Baltic Germany and Denmark. After Sam's stroke we cruised gently on the East Coast, the Netherlands and Brittany, and in 2021 sailed to Cornwall and back. In 2024, following Sam's death, Camilla plans a memorial round-Britain cruise

Amazing fouling! I presume not anti-fouled. How long in the water since last clean? Have you tried lanolin? We are trying ordinary grease this year (in the Orwell). Usually we anti-foul, as do about half the boats in our yard.

Yes, impressive, isn't it? In the water from June 2007 to May 2008, and mostly static in Badalona Marina. The prop itself wasn't antifouled but the p-bracket was, and was nearly as badly fouled.
Not sure about next year, Hopefully a few weeks in the fresh water of the French canals will remove all remaining wildlife and it will be back to the Orwell by this autumn, hooray!
